Love Wins – My Travon Martin Conclusion (Written by KD Bowe)

I haven’t been able to express or put into words how I feel about the Trayvon Martin tragedy. Every time I try, the words never come. However, I read something that pretty much describes how I feel. This was written by KD Bowe.

Love Wins… My Trayvon Martin Conclusion

God always wins. There really is no comparison. God is also love, and since this is the case, love always wins. I have accepted this as my reality. I hate what happened to Trayvon Martin. I hate how the justice system is seemingly slanted against people of color and has been for decades. I cannot, however, have actions of hate because hate NEVER wins. Love does. Like many of you, once the verdict was read on Saturday, I reacted. I did some things and said some things out of my humanity. I won’t beat myself up for that because I’m human.

The true essence of who I have chosen to be however is a man of God, therefore a man of love. If it is true that love wins, I right now divorce myself from feelings of entrapment, victimization, helplessness and defeat. True vindication comes from the fact that I will, in love, do my part to make a difference in my home and my community both locally and nationally. God (love) will handle the rest. When it’s all said and done, we don’t lose with love. Hate makes a disappointment look like the end. Love convinces us that the end is never the end unless we win.

1 Corinthians 13:8a – Love never fails.

Great Is He! A Great Father… A Great Man!

Great is he who is working hard to be a great father, a great man
Building a reputation as a good person always offering a helping hand
Loving his wife and treating her like the queen she truly is
Being there as a role mode and active in the life of his kids

Great is he who gets up and makes it happen day after day

And still manages to smile thru the storms life throws his way
Being the head, the provider, and the protector of his house
A family-oriented man who is a loyal, dedicated spouse

Great is he who admit he’s not perfect and makes mistakes
But always gives 100% some times more if that’s what it takes
Standing up and being the man God called him to be
While letting his light shine brightly for the world to see

Great is he who does his job quietly while seeking no fame

Wanting only good things to be associated with his name
He’s had many happy moments and some that made him sad
But one of his greatest accomplishments is being called a great dad

Great is He! A Great Father… A Great Man!

Don’t Come For Me…

So I hear you are talking about me all over town
Girl, don’t mess around and get your ass beat down
You don’t even know me so why are you saying my name
Just spreading lie after lie about me with no shame
Telling folks you stole my man because I didn’t treat him right
That I’m a crazy chick, stuck up and uptight
Well for the record he was FWB never my man
I let him go because he wasn’t a part of my  plan
So keep my name out of your mouth and do what you do
Next time, don’t come for me unless I send for you

Changing Your Filter

Changing the oil filter in our car every few months keeps it running nice and smooth. Just like our car needs maintenance, we (our hearts, our bodies, our minds) need maintenance. We need to filter out all of the negative things and people causing us unnecessary stress and drama. We need to add a new filter of positive people and things that inspire, uplift and support us. Have you changed your filter lately…

Loves Ball and Chain

When did love become like an old ball and chain
Why is it considered the main cause of so much pain
Is it because we don’t love the people we should
Or is it because we love the people who mean us no good
How can you give love when your heart is nailed to the ground
Or how can receive love when your heart is nowhere to be found
Love shouldn’t have you feeling heavy hearted or weighed down
It shouldn’t have you feeling like you are drifting at sea about to drown
If you want to experience true love, start by unlocking the chain
Throwing away the heavy ball causing your heart so much pain
Opening yourself up to giving and receiving all that love throws your way
Experience a love that goes stronger and gets better every day

Thank You for My Mother

Lord, I thank you for my amazing and loving mother
The love I have for her can’t be measured because it’s like no other
It’s the unconditional kind of love that lives deep down in my heart
It’s a bond, a connection nothing can destroy it or tear it apart
My mother has always been very supportive of me
She encouraged me to do well and to be all I could be
She gave me guidance and advice while still allowing me to grow
When I didn’t listen and made mistakes, she didn’t say  “I told you so”
One of my fondest memories of her goes back to when I was a child
Of her looking at me with those big dimples and beautiful smile
She was always pleasant and smiling no matter what she was going thru
She worked hard to take care of her family as all good mothers do
I also remember her standing at the stove cooking my favorite meal
She’d cook and I’d set the table that was our little deal
Her famous chicken and rice was and still is her specialty dish
To be able to cook like her was always my wish
When I started playing sports, she’d come to my games to see me play
When my first love broke my heart, she hugged me and told me it would be ok
When I was teased because of my bad skin, she told me I was beautiful every day
And when I started smelling myself and acting grown, she still loved me anyway
She has always been there for all the important events in my life
My prom, graduations, the day my husband took me his wife
The birth of my child where I almost didn’t make it and died
And when I first held my baby in my arms and cried
She has taught me so much thru the years
To be strong and independent, not afraid to face my fears
To thank God for everything and to count my many blessings
She was there to help me thru all of my life lessons
Even at 62 years old, she is still in good health and looking good
If I could give her anything she has ever dreamed of, I would
But no matter how hard I try, I can never thank her for all she has done
Lord, I just thank you for giving me the prefect one
My True Essence

Praise Him

It’s easy to praise Him when things are going good
Giving Him all glory and honor as you should
But can you praise Him when you are in the middle of a mess
When are you feeling down and defeated, everything but blessed
Can you still praise Him when you can’t find the words to pray
Or when you have strayed from Him and can’t find your way
Good or bad, He is worthy of your worship and praise
Not just when you are happy or only on your good days
So you should praise Him no matter what you are going thru
Your praise should be consistent just like His love for you

So Glad You Are Here

Come here and let me whisper in your ear
I really don’t have anything to say, I just want you near
Close enough to plant light kisses all over your neck
I am getting turned on myself with each peck
I can tell by the way you are breathing you are turned on to
I can see the bulge in your pants straining to get through
I can’t help myself so I open your pants and set him free
He springs out and stands up straight, ready for me
You lift my shirt and begin to suck and lick on each breast
You pull down my pants and slide your finger in my treasure chest
You can tell she’s ready because she’s throbbing and wet
You slide him in and we begin to work up a good sex sweat
It feels so good I can’t fight the orgasm building up any longer
So I give in and explode, then you explode, yours even stronger
While lying in each other’s arms, I lean over and whisper in your ear
I love the way you love me and I’m so glad you are here
